What is Islam?
Prophet S.A.W explained that Islam consists of external actions, both speech, and conduct. The external action means the Pillars of Islam which testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad S.A.W is the Messenger of Allah, observe Salah (prayers), pay Zakat, observe Sawm (fasting) of Ramadan, and perform Hajj (pilgrimage) of the House, provide you have the resources of making a journey to it.
What is Iman?
Iman is defined to be convinced with the inner heart, affirming with the tongue, and carrying out actions with various parts of the body. A man who knows and believes without a doubt in the unity of Allah S.W.T, His Laws and the Revealed Guidance is called Mu'min(faithful). This faith will lead him to obey and submit to the Will of God in his life. Prophet Muhammad S.A.W has explained that Iman is belief in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, resurrection after death, and belief in Divine Power, it's good and it's bad.
What is Ihsan?
Ihsan is defined as worshiping Allah as if you see Him, and even though you don't see Him, He surely sees you. A Muhsin is someone who wants to achieve perfection in his submission to Allah because he is feeling of being observed when he performs Ibadah. The feeling of God-Presence helps a man to beautify in his every action to attain Allah's pleasure.
All in all, Hadith Jibril gives us a basis for understanding Islam. Besides, this hadith also give us a sign of Al-Qiyamah to make us prepared for Judgement Day and teaches an etiquette of seeking knowledge. We, as Muslims should strive harder to get to the level of Muhsin. A Muhsin is a Mu'min and a Mu'min is a Muslim. However, not every Muslim is a Mu'min and a Muhsin.
